I'll use a piece of tape to
record the layout of the HD.

And then to transfer the
layout from the HD case to the D.

Layout transferred. Now for the drill.

The plastic is soft and drills
easily. A gentle hand is needed.

Tolerance for the holes is generous
as the decal hides imperfections.

This HD case has the serial number
of HD00000173, an early one with refinements yet to be. The hole in
the center was punched twice.

Next, laying the controller board in place to mark the mounting holes.

The flathead bolts I bought
earlier need a countersunk hole.

With the standoffs installed,
it's ready for the board.
