I didn't like throwing away these jugs. I wanted to find uses for them, you know, recycling. Here's one of the uses I came up with. A housing to hold a monitor fan.
I hacked off one end of the jug with a knife. Then measured and marked a line around the sides. I'll trim this with a big pair of shears.
I'm using a 120mm fan taken from an old NEC APC, dated from the early eighties. It's rather quiet for the size.
Ready to cut the hole.
Ready to assemble. Four short sheet metal screws (7/16) will do the trick.
Finished product. I used painters masking tape because it doesn't dry out like regular masking tape. Still looking for a better tape to use. Cover all air holes on the top of the case.
