On the front is a three speed switch for the fans.
It's a delicate switch, so I'll tape a piece of foam from the DVD box over it.
The aluminum is soft and will scratch easily. I'll tape every everything to protect it.
Now, I'll start planning how to put the FD 3.5 mech, it's controller board, and the matching faceplate in the 3.5 cage.
First thought is to put the controller PCB between the FD 3.5 mech and the PC 3.5 mech.
The blank plate is just the right size for the decal from the FD 2000.
Here, I'm marking where the row of lights, and the momentary switch should go.
Disassemble the FD.
A test fit in the 3.5 cage. You can see the pencil line where the lights should go.
But it's too close to the PC 3.5 mech.
So, I'll relocate it to the bottom of the three slots. I made an insulator sheet from an old disk box. It's real dense cardboard. I'm not worried about it shorting out on the cage.
